The Riau College of Pharmacy (STIFAR Riau) opened in 2002 under Ministry of National Education decree SK No. 170/D/O/2002 dated 12 August 2002. Its founding responded to the growing and increasingly widespread network of health-service facilities requiring more health personnel — particularly pharmaceutical professionals in Riau Province and the city of Pekanbaru.
STIFAR Riau now runs four LAM-PTKes accredited study programs: Diploma (DIII) in Pharmacy, Bachelor (S1) of Pharmacy, Pharmacist Profession (PSPPA), and Master of Pharmacy.
